3-day suspension for DAP Kesidang assemblyman Written by  Malaysia Chronicle

MELAKA – The State Legislative Assembly sitting today saw the three-day suspension of Kesidang assemblyman Goh Leong San for failing to adhere to the Standing Order while debating on the issue of illegal gambling machines in the state.

Speaker Datuk Wira Othman Muhamad approved the motion tabled by Chief Minister Datuk Mohd Ali Rustam for Goh to be suspended for three days as provided under the assembly’s Standing Order, Clause 31 (1) and (2) and 34 (3).

It states that an assemblyman can be suspended from taking part in the assembly sitting if he refuses to sit down and stop speaking or does not heed the Speaker’s order.

The issue began when state Housing, Local Government and Environment Committee chairman Datuk Md Yunos Husin, when answering a supplementary question from Goh, said they could not restrict gambling machines as gambling was part of Chinese culture.

Goh, who is also Melaka DAP chairman, was not satisfied with the answer and asked the Ayer Molek assemblymen to retract his statement about gambling being part of Chinese culture, which was ignored by Md Yunos.

Two government backbenchers, Datuk Hassan Abdul Rahman (BN-Sungai Rambai) and Datuk Yaakub Md Amin (BN-Sungai Udang), who is also the government chief whip, told the Speaker to ignore Goh and asked for the Kesidang assemblyman to be suspended for refusing to sit after being told do so.

Goh, in the original question, asked about the state government and police’s stand on illegal gambling machines, to which Md Yunos replied that the Melaka government did not issue licences for gambling machines.

Instead, he said, the gambling machine licences were issued by the federal government through the Finance Ministry.

Following the argument between Goh and the backbenchers, the assembly sitting took a 10-minute break after which Mohd Ali suggested Goh’s suspension.

The Chief Minister’s motion received the support of the majority of the assembly, which comprises 23 assemblymen from BN and five from DAP.

Speaking to reporters outside the assembly hall, Mohd Ali said he was disappointed by the DAP member’s refusal to sit down and to stop debating the issue despite being ordered by the Speaker.

“The issue was over terminology but as we generally know, the Chinese love to gamble and it’s part of their culture, and there are also Malays who gamble but they can be charged under Syariah law,” he said.

Goh, when met by reporters, expressed his disappointment by Md Yunos’ choice of words, describing it as an insult to the Chinese.

“I only asked him (Md Yunus) to withdraw his words about gambling being a Chinese culture because it is inaccurate, that’s all,” he said.

The sitting will resume tomorrow and Wednesday.

[[[ *** RESPONSE *** ]]]

Goh Leong San is right to fight for the right for Chinese to play mere games with their own money. Which Malay or Muslim  has the right to deny how one entertains oneself?

It is INDEED Chinese culture though those who gamble and lose excessively are not respectable either. But to be told to sit down when asking for a Human Right is very rude and almost a confirmation of racism if not a fundamentalistic sense of morality and desire to impose it on others not even of their own race.

Casinos should be allowed in their full glory IMHO but with the below listed precautions :

1) There should be a limit on what one can lose at a casino. I suggest no more than 30% be the legal limit. The casino will check the salary pay slip at the entrance before entry and when the paton’s limit is reached, he will he ushered out.

2) The other entry will be for jobless persons will not be allowed to gamble unless they produce savings book or whatever. For the ‘idle rich’ (jobless but wealthy) 30% also applies but since they have no salary, they can only lose 30% of their wealth PER YEAR meaning they will be barred from entry upon reaching the limit for the rest of the year.

3) In no instance will a Muslim be allowed into the establishment.

So who has a right to to prevent the Chinese from gambling? In principle this is no different from the Chinese asking for Abbatoirs for Pork, or manufacturing facilities for products like Deli foods,

I hope to see this gambling issue brought up again and for any and all Chinese who do understand the right to gamble or legalise may not be curtailed by any person who does not use the same services as well.

Good work Goh Leong San! And I believe that your suspension is illegal and should be challenged, with a demand that the Speaker be remved from his post to be replaced by a more racially sensitive or vice-unbiased person.

13 arrested for online gambling Bernama Wednesday, July 13th, 2011 00:27:00

KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested 13 people and seized 54 computers and 41 slot machines in a raid at a shopping mall in Ampang tonight.

Raiding party leader DSP Mohamed Mokhsein Mohamed Zain said the 13, aged 19 to 50 years-old, were arrested in the raid on three premises at about 9.30pm.

He said they were busy playing computer games in the premises when police pounced on them.

The premises operate 24 hours under the guise of internet cafes and family entertainment centres.

“The premises are also equipped with closed-circuit television (CCTV) to control customer traffic,” he told reporters at the raid location.

The case is investigated under Section 4B (A) Common Gaming Houses Act 1952.

[[[ *** RESPONSE *** ]]]

Section 4B (A) Common Gaming Houses Act 1952 is outdated. I will not challenge that the law was not broken, HOWEVER, the government should understand that no adult person is going to let you tell them they cannot play cards with their friends in a public place of their choice and to act in considerate manner by at least leaving them alone. The law in this case is insulting and unreasonable as 4D which is ALSO real gambling and really quite dull, (not fun like dice, dominos, cards or jackpot, and just as costly) is EVERYWHERE.

Instead of sneaking around breaking the law, I ask that all non-Muslims (typically minority peoples) be allowed to gamble with REAL cards and dice or jackpot machine in commercial areas via legalisation and to prepare to sign a petition that allows 4D outlet licences to be used for either 4D or cards and jackpot. There is no difference in fact, so it is time BN started thinking about how to stop irritating the minority populations by denying them their gambling entertainment on basis of semantics and technicalities while continmung APARTHEID. 4D and cards or jackpot or roulette are just as expensive.

Use my suggestion of limited losses though (i.e. 30% maximum losses allowed against a salary payslip or savings account check before a patron is allowed to play) , and this is where legislation could be invasive.

Otherwise, don’t even say it is not part of non-Muslim culture and even dare to suspend MPs like Goh Leong San raising valid issues. BN should know that at funeral wakes, just to name an instance, Chinese do gamble and also during New Year as well. You cannot pretend it is not part of their culture and suspend an MP for demanding what is a non-Muslim right. So whats the deal about 4D being allowed but not cards, dominos, dice, roulettes and jackpots? If you don’t gamble as a Muslim fine, but don’t try to dictate what kind of gambling is allowed to non-Muslims. it is their right as free humans on a free planet, barring reasonable zoning restrictions or proximity to religious establishments.

If anything this is just about oppression of the Chinese or being rude to them and other non-Muslims who gamble. Who cares if they gamble? This is akin to disallowing of eating of pork or drinking of alcohol. 4D is fine, but everything else is also gambling, whats the problem with BN? Time to vote for MPs or a political coalition with COMMON SENSE and sensitivity to other races.

To protect non-Muslims, there should be a limit on what one can lose at a casino. I suggest no more than 30% be the legal limit. The casino will check the salary pay slip at the entrance before entry and when the paton’s limit is reached, he will he ushered out. The other entry will be for jobless persons will not be allowed to gamble unless they produce savings book or whatever. Even for them 30% also applies but since they have no salary, they can only lose 30% of their wealth PER YEAR meaning they will be barred from entry upon reaching the limit for the rest of the year.

Mob-rule applied by Muslims upon non-Muslims is no rule at all (i.e. lawlessness) if it does not make accommodate the large number of 4D gamblers here. Would it be harmful with the controls I have suggested then? People may not control themselves but the loss of this form and atmosphere of entertainment will be quite missed, and as mentioned no more costly than 4D gambling which is already legal. Do you think it possible to allow so-called dhimmi citizens alongside Muslims to coexist? Would you tolerate the presence of other faiths withoput resorting to proselytization in respect of their cultures?

60 Muslims caught for gambling in Rembau February 04, 2012

REMBAU, Feb 4 – Authorities nabbed 60 Muslim customers at a computerised gambling outlet near Taboh Naning here early this morning. According to a Bernama report, 41 computers and RM6,000 in cash were also seized in the raid.

Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Affairs Department operations unit chief Ahmad Zaki Hamzah said those detained were aged between 20 and 60.

“They were taken to the Rembau district police headquarters to have their statements taken. They were then released on bail and will have to return on a specified date to help in investigation,” he said after the raid.

Ahmad Zaki said they would be charged under Section 79 (a) of the Negri Sembilan Syariah Criminal Enactment 2004 which carries a RM3,000 fine or two years jail or both.

Members of the Negeri Sembilan National Security Council and the police also took part in the operation which ended at 5am.

[[[ *** RESPONSE *** ]]]

No issues with this nabbing of offenders to vows not to gamble. However, are some of these these Muslims denied rights to apostasy because they were brought up without a choice or a chance to have a choice? In which case, they could have been indirectly forced to remain Muslims from the sheer bias and machinery of the state sponsored religion, and thus should appeal the judgnment on any punishment based on the extreme treatment towards change of faith or creating hostile conditions to those wanting renunciation from Islam. By disallowing Article 18 of the UNHCR issue to them and the subsequent repressive measures or threat of the same, the judgment or nabbing could very well be illegal and unconstitutional as Malaysia is a signatory of the UNHCR. Any Muslim civil lawyers and ulamas up to the task of civilising on this very difficult but doubtless high profile issue?

Article 18.

  • Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.

Outrage as former drug addict Robbie Williams launches online poker site – by Lucy Buckland – Last updated at 9:27 AM on 4th February 2012

He is no Angel, but former drug addict Robbie Williams has enraged fans once again by launching an online poker site.

Anti-gambling campaigners also slated the Take That singer for launching the website claiming the 37-year-old would be raking in the cash from vulnerable addicts.

The site, which is set to launch this year, claims the main focus is having ‘fun’ but some of the games do cost money.

Liberal Democrat MP Tessa Munt said it was disgraceful the star was making money from addicts – seeing as the singer was once famously addicted to antidepressants.

She told The Daily Mirror: ‘I’m outraged by this. It directly targets his fans, including children. The money he makes should go to addiction charities.’

Even his own fans turned against him with one writing on his official website: ‘Taking advantage of vulnerable people for financial gain does not sit right with me.’

Nothing to do with REAL LIVE gambling in Malaysia or anywhere else in the world, but just some comic relief to show that even Westerners these days don’t know what is real and what is fake. After a decade or 2 of copycating, Robbie delves into the more fakeness. Look, if one can’t feel the gambling chips, hold actual cards and throw actual dice, it’s not gambling but electronic masturbation. The keyword here is REAL an LIVE. Actual gambling is bad enough, but online gambling is complete b.s. also especially when the odds can be shifted at the touche or a cursor to decide who wins or loses. Amend those laws morons!

On Jan 27 2012, a Melaka Historical City Council enforcement assistant, Azizan Abbas, 26, and four of his colleagues were injured after being assaulted by about 30 men while carrying out an operation against illegal internet gambling activities at Taman Sri Duyong, here. Just legalise and stop wasting time and energy for what is a human right.

Protection Money and Extortion – ONLY after paying a fee, PG&E customers can opt out of SmartMeters — for $75, plus $10 a month – by Dana Hull Posted: 02/01/2012 11:51:12 AM PST Updated: 02/01/2012 08:54:16 PM PST

In Abuse of Power, electronic weapons, social freedoms, spirit of the law, Technology, word of the law on February 4, 2012 at 9:49 am

Despite a chorus of complaints by SmartMeter opponents, state regulators voted Wednesday to give PG&E customers the right to opt out of having a SmartMeter and keep their old meters — for a fee.

The decision, which is being closely watched by smart grid advocates and utilities across the country, came after a year of highly organized protests by consumers who oppose SmartMeters, primarily because of alleged health effects.

PG&E customers who want to opt out of SmartMeters will be required to pay a one-time $75 fee and a monthly charge of $10. Low-income customers would pay an initial fee of $10 and a monthly charge of $5.

The fees are to cover the costs of installing analog meters on homes that have SmartMeters but want to switch back, as well as the cost of paying workers to read the analog meters each month. PG&E and others have argued that if one house on a block chooses an analog meter instead of a SmartMeter that automatically reports electricity usage, it is not fair to expect neighbors who keep their SmartMeters to have to pay for the cost of the meter reader.

The opt-out decision is widely viewed as a compromise on the part of state regulators and PG&E, who have been flooded with consumer complaints.

“The standard for metering has been transitioning worldwide from the older technology of analog meters to today’s smart meter technology,” said Michael Peevey, president of the California Public Utilities Commission, who crafted the decision. “We are not reversing that transition by allowing for an analog opt-out, but we are recognizing that certain customers prefer an analog meter.”

But the fight is far from over. Many PG&E customers are adamantly opposed to paying the fees, which they say amounts to extortion. Nearly 60 people, some from as far away as San Luis Obispo, attended the meeting Wednesday, speaking for more than an hour during the public comment portion of the proceeding. Speaker after speaker talked about their personal health issues and wider concerns about the growing use of wireless technology.

While many California residents regularly use cellphones, laptops, iPads and other devices, a small but vocal group of people do not. SmartMeters have become a flash point because of worries among some people that electromagnetic signals from the meters’ wireless mesh network cause migraines, nausea and other health issues.

“Obviously, PG&E’s SmartMeter rollout has been controversial, and I know that this proposed decision is also controversial,” PUC Commissioner Mark Ferron said before

casting his vote. “But this decision strikes a fair balance, and provides a choice without further delay. I recognize that there have been a number of health and privacy concerns raised, but I suspect that some may never be satisfied.”

As the opt-out vote passed 4-0, SmartMeter opponents erupted in anger and dismay.

“This is a crime against humanity!” screamed one woman. “Shame! Shame!” chanted another. Peevey had to ask security guards to clear the room.

“We’re not going to stop. We’re not going away,” said Josh Hart, a Santa Cruz County resident and organizer of a grassroots group called Stop Smart Meters. “People are going to refuse to pay these fees. You’re going to see personal injury lawsuits and class-action lawsuits.”

Hart does not use a cellphone and says his computer is connected to the Internet via landline; he tries to avoid wireless technology.

PG&E moved quickly Wednesday to begin the opt-out process. The utility estimates that 145,000 to 150,000 of its customers will opt out. About 90,000 customers have already indicated that they do not want SmartMeters and are on a “delayed installation” list.

“We know personal choice is important to our customers when it comes to the meters on their homes,” said Helen Burt, PG&E’s senior vice president and chief customer officer. “This final decision in support of analog meters is a positive step forward for those who have concerns over wireless technology. We understand some customers have been waiting for this decision, and we are actively reaching out to those who have expressed their desire for a SmartMeter alternative.”

Burt said PG&E will begin the opt-out process immediately, and will work as quickly as possible.

PG&E customers who have a SmartMeter and want it removed can let PG&E know by going to PG&E’s website, calling the dedicated SmartMeter hotline (866-743-0263) or visiting one of PG&E’s 74 local offices. PG&E customers who still have an analog meter will receive a letter from PG&E explaining the opt-out option and the fees

Smart meters have been widely heralded as a way to bring greater efficiency to the nation’s aging electrical grid and give consumers greater insight into how they use electricity.

But as utilities across the country have installed them, the consumer backlash has taken the industry by surprise. Organizations like the SmartGrid Consumer Collaborative have sprouted up to educate the public about the benefits of the smart grid.

“We’re pleased that the California Public Utilities Commission took a definitive step forward today in the regulatory process to address the issue of smart meter opt-outs,” said Laura Hernandez of the collaborative?. “The ruling will pave the way for the strong and equitable continuation of PG&E’s SmartMeter rollout, a project that represents a critical first step in the process of modernizing the electric grid.”

Swarming their way (gracefully) to a warzone: Amazing flying display by robotic choppers that could one day help our troops – by Julian Gavaghan – Last updated at 5:18 PM on 2nd February 2012

In Technology, War on February 4, 2012 at 9:27 am

Like some epic computer-generated movie scene, futuristic aircraft swarm around in synchronised fashion and perform impressive mid-air stunts.

But the spectacle is real and the robotic nano quadrotors – despite being not much bigger than your hand – could one day revolutionise warfare.

The miniature helicopters, which have four propellers, are still in their infancy in development but have been extensively trialled in carrying items and manoeuvre through small gaps.

Intelligent: The nano quadrotors, developed by a University of Pennsylvania team, perform a display

Tricky: The mini choppers, each fitted with four propellers, fly through the window and maintain the formation

It is hoped they may be useful in locations where construction is hazardous for humans, such as in war zones, oil rigs or on extremely tall skyscrapers.

Now, a team from the University of Pennsylvania, which is well known for its quadrotor research, have programmed the mini choppers to carry out autonomous swarm behaviour.

This means they can fly like birds or bees, moving en masse in a synchronised fashion in one direction or another without be programmed to perform individual manoeuvres.

A video, posted on the web by Alex Kushleyev, Daniel Mellinger, and Vijay Kumar  of the General Robotics, Automation, Sensing and Perception, demonstrates this feat.

Up to 20 nano quadrotors swarm around in multiple formations that echo the Red Arrows – except that these craft can get much closer to each other.

Figure of eight: The quadrotors loop around without bumping into each other

Very clever: A nano quadrotor close up

The swarm is sufficiently intelligent that it can take into consideration obstacles while on a formation flight.

The video shows how each autonomous quadrotor manages to hold its position perfectly during movement while gracefully transitioning between different 3D shapes.

At one point they are able shrink the formation, fly through a window and produce the exact same size shape on the other side.

Trickier yet, they can perform a figure of eight with each craft looping around without bumping into each other.

Whether or not the craft can be used to perform functions in the outside world remains to be seen.

But, although little has been revealed about their technology, robotic nano quadrotors are clearly off to a flying star.

Hey idiot boffins, read up on ‘grey goo’ and write that convention that ensures weapon drones never reach smaller than handgun size (in fact they should never have allowed projectile weapons to begin with), and electronics are disallowed from frying brains as well as biological genetic or radioactive weapons used. There is no honour or dignity or meaning when it’s all about mass producing drones to swamp your opponent to to become a hegemon. If you ask me, I believe that Earth may have had more than 1 era of civilisation, with the grey goo scenario amoeba survivers evolving into humanity in the form it is today. Bears kept in tiny cages by Chinese for their bile ‘commit suicide’ with hunger strikes to escape barbaric torture – by Suzannah Hills – Last updated at 3:15 PM on 3rd February 2012

Bears kept in tiny cages by the Chinese who harvest their bile are starving themselves to death as their only way of escaping the misery of their captivity.

An estimated 12,000 bears are kept in captivity in China and Vietnam to harvest bile, a digestive juice stored in the gall bladder, which is prized in traditional Chinese medicine.

The bears are often kept in ‘crush cages’, measuring about 2ft 6ins by 4 ft 2ins, forcing them to lie on their backs and making it easier for the ‘farmer’ to draw the bile through a tube inserted into the bear’s stomach. A caged bear is raised for bile extraction at a private restaurant in Van Dinh town, Northern province of Ha Tay,Vietnam for nearly two years

Now animal rights campaigners claim that the creatures have been witnessed deliberately starving themselves to death.

Campaigner Louis Ng said he first encountered bears on ‘hunger strike’ during a visit to a Laotian bile farm in 2009.

When Mr Ng, the director of Animal Concerns Research and Education Society in Singapore, visited the farm in November that year he discovered a female bear lying motionless in a cage.

The owner told him the bear had been refusing food for ten days and was starving herself to death. She died the next day.

The farms generally use the Asiatic black bear, which is now listed as vulnerable on the World Conservation Union’s Red List of Threatened Animals.

Since the 1980s the number of bears farmed in Asia has increased to around 12,000 as a cost effective way to meet the demand for ursodeoxycholic acid – the active ingredient in bear bile – which has been used to treat kidney problems and stomach and digestive disorders.
Men in China have also used bear bile as an aphrodisiac or to help cure hangovers.

More recently it has been added to non-medicinal products such as wine and shampoo in China, the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) claims.

Mr Ng said: ‘The bile is removed from the bear by inserting a catheter tube through a permanent incision in the abdomen and gall bladder. Sometimes a permanently implanted metal tube is used.’

A captive bear having bile removed from the gall bladder with a catheter tube, which the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) says would be ‘incredibly painful’ for the bear’

Rescued: A bear called ‘Ben Ben’, which was saved from a bear farm in Liaoning Province after eight-year’s confinement in cages, is transferred to a bear rescue center in Chengdu, China, in 2005

Model Lisa B, actor Brian Blessed, fashion designer Elizabeth Emanuel and actress Trudie Goodwin support the WSPA (World Society for the Protection of Animals) campaign against China’s bear bile farms in 2002

There are still 12,000 Asiatic black bears held captive in bile farms across southeast Asia

Captive bears are kept in ‘crush cages’ measuring 2.6 feet by 4.2 feet – giving them no room to move

Many rescued bile bears are found with head injuries from repeatedly bashing their heads against their cages

China produces 7,000 kilos of bear bile a year – but only consumes 4,000

A kilo of bear bile sells for the equivalent of £1,1771

Ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) is the active ingredient found in bear bile

In traditional Chinese medicine, UDCA is used to treat kidney problems and digestive problems

Many people in Asia also use bear bile as hemorrhoid cream or to treat cuts and bruises

Asian men have also used bear as an aphrodisiac and to cure hangovers

Scientists have developed synthetic versions of UDCA that could be used as an alternative in Chinese medicine

Bile is typically tubed from the gall bladder at least twice a day.

Chris Gee, captive bear campaigns manager for the World Society for the Protection of Animals, confirmed that it had heard reports of bears starving themselves to death, ppening but hadn’t seen any incidents firs thand.

Mr Gee said: ‘I’ve seen reports of this in the past and while we’ve never witnessed this it is true that bears in these farms do go out of their minds with frustration at their captivity.

‘They are kept in horrendous conditions with bile being extracted from their gall bladder on a daily basis. For some of them, as horrible as it is to say, death would be the best option for them.

‘On visits to these farms during our campaigns to raise awareness and try and put a stop to them we have seen bears repeatedly banging their heads against their cage bars in frustration.’

China produces 7,000 kilos of bear bile a year – worth the equivalent of £1,771 a kilo – but only consumes 4,000 kilos.

Mr Gee added: ‘Because of the discrepancies in what is produced compared to what is consumed it is highly likely that the rest is sold on the black market around the world.

‘There are now perfectly good synthetic replacements for UDCA and we are campaigning to raise awareness of this.

‘Bear bile is still used as a hemorrhoid cream, for cuts and bruises, and even for sore throats completely unnecessarily.

‘Some men have even been known to use it as a hangover cure or as a aphrodisiac because of the idea of being as a tough as a bear. ‘

Mr Ng is now setting up a rescue centre in Laos on a five-hectare site with a 12-room building for volunteers and two enclosures to accommodate 29 bears.

The £320,000 facility will be used to rehabilitate the bears after a life of captivity and is expected to be ready for volunteers by June.

Those poor bears are also confined in cages for years on end with an open sore that is dug into time and time again with not even a local anaesthetic to obtain bile which probably doesn’t even work as you think it does! Has this been scientifically proved to work? that’s the difference!!!!

The headline does not make sense. Are the Chinese committing suicide or are you claiming the bears are (which is ridiculous). It is a disgusting practice but less so than the slaughter of 2 million babies a year in the US.

Reading “nnn.China’s” rebuttal comments one can unfortunately read that he/she cannot see the difference between humane killing and inhumane killing. May as well talk to the Great wall of China! [[[ Expect unpleasant reviews of any foreign invaders in the past . . . ]]]

I don’t think an animal can commit suicide by choice. There not really aware of the concept and are driven by instincts. I think they may only do so not by choice but as a result of some mental condition due to their confinement, I don’t see them doing it to escape as a direct thought. This article highlights an important point but in a sensationalist style (and it did not need to).

I am continually disgusted by this inhumane (and completely unnecessary!) practice. Although I am Chinese myself, I will never advocate for any sort of cruelty towards animals. Absolutely ashamed! Fortunately, my secondary school is big on community and service work so my peers and I were able to raise enough money to save a few bears from these vile farms. It won’t make a big difference in the world, but it has made a world of difference in the eyes of the bears. If I’m not mistaken, it takes 10,000 HKD or 816 or so pounds to save a single bear.

This is but one aspect of animal husbandry practiced in China which goes beyond our own tastes in terms of meat etc but is also downright cruel. Just be very careful what you purchase from this country which needs to apply modern cruelty-free farming methods soonest – including animal bi-products such as fur/leather. And perhaps they should come into the 21st Century and realise that Rhino horn, (live) snake’s blood, shark’s fin, bear’s bile and other such things are no aphrodisiac or panacea for a good doctor’s diagnosis and cure. Even a herbalist could probaly apply better treatments for the supersticious of the world. The western world has its own poisons in foodstuffs etc all over the place – top of my list is aspartame – but I would personally never use any such ‘natural’ medicines which might contain cruelly obtained animal products.

Chinese traditional medicine has much to answer for. – Leew, lancashire, so does western medicine, and western consumables…. have you heard about what they do to all types of different animals, during testing of products?? quite frankly , the way humans generally treat animals and their lives, with disregard is disgusting, the world over…!

Continue collecting but improve the conditions as well as the technology in the collection. Let these bears roam free (also breed freely) in a ‘collection reserve’ and use painless micro or nano tubes, and micro or nano needles with automatic collection devices installed on a collar (i.e. device should be a small motor with suction and a vial for the bile which can be collected at the end of the day etc..). Otherwise collection methods are inhumane. Remember that in the wild, bears do get ticks or other small biting insects, so the micro/nano option should not cause too much disturbance or ill health effects than a single maggot wound that never heals . . . but being locked up and installed with these hideously large and very invasive machines and/or wiring is terrible! Surely China has the technology to spare so as not to be referred to as a disgraceful and cruel nation. Healing humans with fair amounts of bear bile (leave some for the bear) is fine. But don’t hurt or incarcerate the bears in the process. Also remember to give the bears ‘holidays’ and weekends where no collection is done and there is no presence of humans.

“Scientists have developed synthetic versions of UDCA that could be used as an alternative in Chinese medicine.” This synthetic option is even more harmful (probably mutagenic) in the long run and destroys the very reputation of TCM’s 100% organic reputation, nullifies the unique organic nature of TCM (perhaps intentionally?). Chinese and TCM practicioners, NEVER use a synthetic replacement when organic versions exist or such implanted/extraction devices of this size.

Perhilitan’s animal insticts – As long as there’s demand, illegal meat trade will flourish, says Perhilitan head – IKRAM ISMAIL Friday, July 15th, 2011 14:26:00

Abd Rasid Samsudin
WILDLIFE authorities in the country have long been fighting to stem the tide of illegal trade of the meat of endangered species in the country. The issue was recently brought to the fore after a raid by the Department of Wildlife and National Park (Perhilitan) led to the discovery of 1.27kg of meat, supposedly that of the endangered Malayan sun bear, being served in a restaurant in Jalan Kuching.

The Malay Mail spoke to Perhilitan director-general DATUK ABD RASID SAMSUDIN (left) yesterday about what the department is doing to tackle the issue.

Q: Why do restaurants persist in serving dishes made from the meat of exotic and endangered species?

A: It is about demand and supply. If there is no demand for such meat, it would not be sold. For example, during the raid on July 6, there were a variety of meat being served at the restaurant but people preferred to eat dishes made from the meat of the Malayan sun bear. The case is still under investigation.

Q: Where do these restaurant operators get their supply of such meat?

A: They go through a middlemen. Orang asli, who have access to national parks and forests in the Peninsular, are being paid a small sum to hunt for the meat. It is a pity the orang asli are being used this way as many do it for the money.
Malayan sun bear

In the Wildlife Conservation Act 2010, orang asli are allowed to hunt for endangered wildlife such as deer and ayam hutan (jungle fowl) but only enough to feed themselves. Imagine, an orang asli is paid only RM380 for each Pangolin they catch, which isn’t much. However, we are not blaming their community as they are being taken advantage of by irresponsible parties.

Q: Who is tipping-off Perhilitan on such illegal trade?

A: We are proud to say we receive tip-offs from the public. More people are becoming aware of such trade and when they give us accurate information, we give them a small reward.

Q: Does Perhilitan monitor restaurants in the Klang Valley suspected of selling exotic dishes?

A: Yes. We have identified several hotspots in the Klang Valley, such as in Subang Jaya, where restaurants serve exotic dishes. Some restaurants have been raided many times but they still serve those dishes, so we have to constantly monitor them. Our aim is to find their main supplier.

Q: How many illegal traders have been arrested and charged?

A: In the last five years, we arrested and charged 170 individuals under the Wildlife Conservation Act.

Q: What action has Perhilitan taken to tackle this menace?

A: We constantly monitor our national forests. There are several laws enshrined in the new Wildlife Conservation Act 2010, which we enforce, such as Subsection 62, which states anyone who hunts or keeps the female of a protected species without a licence shall be liable to a fine not exceeding RM100,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years or both.

Meanwhile, Subsection 63 stipulates any person who carries out wildlife trade or taxidermy without a licence shall be liable to a fine not exceeding RM50,000 or imprisonment up to two years or both, upon conviction.

Q: How many animal species are protected by Perhilitan?

A: There are 2,120 protected endangered species and subspecies. We also protect several non-endangered animals, such as wildboar and monkeys, in order to preserve the natural habitat.

Q: Which protected species or animal products are the most traded in and out of Malaysia?

A: The three most traded are pangolin, wildboar and clouded monitor. Others include murai batu (white-rumped shama) and merbah telinga merah (red-whiskered bulbul) bird nests.

Legalize breeding programmes in conjunction with specialised breeding conservatories and reserves of reasonable habitat size (few dozen to few hundred acres?) to house COLONIES of the animal, not a single specimen or even a breeding pair or family group. How would you live to be stuck in a cage with no companionship FOREVER? At least a community of same species and in a spacious/natural manner. When endangered animal numbers are stable with surplus, sale and culling can commence. Of course this is a temporary format before lab grown meat from the required species can replace the old method called farming. By then the reserve or conservatory would be able to distribute to other reserves and conservatories around the world.

Zoos are a failed paradigm as exhibits are definitely not large enough to comfortably house colonies of animals in as spacious and natural a habitat as possible. For example a pride of 30 Lions needs 100 sq miles to be comfortable, maybe 50 sq miles with ample prey provided by reserve owners. So think, how can a single Zoo claim to be humane when showing 100s of species in  110 acres (size of Zoo Negara) ? A series of reserves would be more realistic, with a multi storey paradigm necessary for increasingly land scarce Malaysia.

While at it, building architects should consider that 300 to 2000 sq ft are too small for most families who do suffer stress from cramped conditions. They cannot create sustainable societies on people crammed into pigeonholes or Terrace Houses or Duplexes (Semi-Ds) not much larger than Rabbit hutches.

Recapturing The Robber Barons – by Jim Kirwan – 2-3-2112

Had we not become as willfully ignorant as these fools
That failed to resist the Spanish Inquisition;
None of what is happening now,
Could have come to pass!

Before the Crash of 1929 the banks under the guidance of the Robber-Barons played repeatedly with the stability of the markets to create the Bank-Failures that were used to manipulate America’s money supply which each ended in a CRASH. The largest of these was the Wall Street Crash of 1929.

After that disaster, the government instituted a whole series of new laws to keep that from every happening again (In-effect to chain the criminal behavior of the banks & the Robber-barons). From that day to this the old-line junk-yard dogs have been working furiously to repeat 1929, globally, to assure total-global control of the financial world, for the same forces that created the crash of 1929. The difference is that this time the GLOBAL-COLLAPSE will be a thousand times greater than anything anyone has ever seen before.

Under the Clinton administration the very last piece of that protective legislation the Glass-Stiegel Act, was totally destroyed—thus clearing the way for Bush & the Bandits to begin what Obama is now putting the finishing touches on.

All governments tend to be corrupt, especially when they have remained in control without a rebellion for over two hundred years. In our case, what we have seen is the government moving from its official duties to watch over and control corruption from the power-brokers, while supposedly protecting the public from corruption and outright theft. What we have now is the government having let itself be purchased by the global-new-world-order: which has thus become the instrument of massive criminality that takes payments from the corporations (and lets them create all legislation for a bribe) in order to crush the population and enable the takeover of this nation; by the same corporations that this government was supposed to be PROTECTING us all from.

IF government had been doing its job we would not need the IRS (it’s a private for-profit agency) registered in Delaware, and is not officially a part of the US government: Instead we have IRS as the collection arm of the private for-profit Federal Reserve who collects taxes that go straight to the owners of the Federal Reserve, in exchange for printing our DEBT-BASED money.

If the US was a real country with an effective government we would all be getting quarterly dividend checks from the government instead of having to pay them the outrageous taxes they continue to demand. End the IRS & the Federal Reserve which they unswervingly serve!

“HOW” you might ask? It’s really very simple. The government of the United States (you & me) own huge amounts of property, natural resources, infrastructure and on and on and on. The government was supposed to be the custodian of our property and riches: IF they had been doing their jobs, instead of taking bribes and creating “laws” which officially allowed the corporations to acquire all of what we once owned, for next to nothing. Our property has been what all the PRIVATIZATION has always been about: Hiding behind the supposed “business-excellence” which privatization would supposedly bring to the hopelessly flawed publicly owned properties and assets. What a farce this has been! Corporate management is nothing more than a shell game to siphon off massive profits for themselves while literally raping this nation and its people.

For instance the people of the state of Alaska get between $8,000 and $10,000 each year from the government for what they have lost to the government in the natural resources that the government and the corporations steal every year from the citizens of Alaska. Why is this policy not nationwide?

All the national parks have been used and abused by cattle grazing, which has polluted the streams and damaged the land, for pennies an acre that equals massive profits to those “using” these almost-freebies for their own private profits. We have done the same with huge tracts of government land, that is auctioned off (again at rock bottom prices) to the oil-companies and the resource seekers including foreign nations, for almost nothing: compared to what that land and property could have brought on the open markets of the world. The corporations WIN big, the government was paid to allow this to happen and the only real losers have always been the US citizens. ‘The people” that owned everything that was sold at auction, not only have not received anything instead we get our taxes raised in exchange for ever diminishing services along with massive lay-offs that are as dependable as the sun rising in the East!

The truth is that the people of every country ought to be sharing in the wealth that each country produces: Instead the Greedy-Global-Owners keep all the profits made from resources they have basically stolen from the populations that own the forests, the minerals, the water, and the oil in every country, not to mention the land itself along with the publicly financed infrastructure, that here we are now selling off, to be turned back into foreign-owned toll-roads that were only there because we paid for them to be built in the first place.

Another example of what should have happened HERE is what was done by Gadaffi, in Libya; because he actually tried to funnel that countries profits directly back to the people of Libya, the way that we should have been doing things here, all along. (1)

However because we have done, to ourselves, the exact opposite of what could have not only kept this country free, but prosperous as well—we are now looking at prison camps and Martial Law with US troops about to roll into US streets and cities in just 29 more days!

When that day arrives that the first US GI kills the first American citizen on US Soil that will signal the end of the era that began with Kent State during the Viet Nam era that saw US National Guard troops shooting down unarmed students on campus.

When that day comes, every person wearing a government badge of any kind will become a legitimate target, because the wearing of a badge has never given the person behind the badge the right to be judge, jury & executioner of any US citizen—without due process!

If this country is going to survive this groundless and blatant attack upon every man, woman and child in the United States, then that first death ought to send the signal loud and clear to
everyone that owns a weapon to stop whatever you are doing and pick up arms because an armed population will not be treated the same way the unarmed demonstrators have been treated since Bush was in office.

As citizens we need to begin to share in the wealth that we have created in this country. What we do not need is yet another tyrannical administration trying to exterminate the public in every conceivable way, while this government pursues its own Global-Agenda that seeks the total destruction of everyone here who is no longer valuable to the powers that have declared themselves to be above all the laws, of both man and the universe.

Here’s just one more LIE that has been exploded regarding 911.

American Airlines itself is the source for information that AA Flights 11 (North Tower) and 77 (Pentagon) did not fly on 911. These flights are critical to the government’s crumbling cover up! Bush’s ‘official conspiracy theory’ of 911 is, therefore, a lie! If either of those ‘flights’ were mothballed on 9/11, then Bush’s ‘big lie’ the official conspiracy theory is not merely false, it is a bald-faced lie!

Conan Doyle, the brilliant creator of the character Sherlock Holmes, said: “When you have eliminated the impossible whatever remains however implausible must be the truth!” You can, therefore, eliminate Bush’s official conspiracy theory of 911! It is not only impossible; it’s absurd and insulting to intelligent people!

The Bush Conspiracy Theory is a Lie. If neither flight was in the air as American Airlines itself has so stated, then numerous ‘official versions’ of the ‘official conspiracy theory’ are but a pack of malicious lies. There is, then, probable cause to indict Bush and his co-conspirators for the crimes of mass murder and high treason. See: U. S. Codes, Title 18, Section 2441. That includes every statement made by Bush.

WikiScanner discovered that it was American Airlines itself which changed their Wikipedia entry to state that Flights 11 and 77 did not fly on 9/11. The original entry was as follows: Two American Airlines aircraft were hijacked and crashed during the September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attack: American Airlines Flight 77 (a Boeing 757) and American Airlines Flight 11 (a Boeing 767).
New entry [as of the date of this article] is as follows and includes the bolded text below:

Two American Airlines aircraft were hijacked and crashed during the September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attack: Flight 77 (a Boeing 757) and Flight 11 (a Boeing 767).
Although these flights were daily departures before and a month after September 11, 2001. Neither flight 11 nor 77 were scheduled on September 11, 2001. The records kept by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics ( do not list either flight that day.

Sooner or later “everything is going to come out about all the LIES: When that happens would you not rather still be a free and conscious human being, rather than just another mindless idiot in service to this global fantasy!

Try quality of life fee as well sample clauses below (payable by the beneficiary of the receipient of the contract) :

i) everytime a new hi rise appears in the neighbourhood
ii) or a green lung disappears
iii) village sized municipality ‘upgrades’ to township or township ‘upgrades’ to a city or a city ‘gains’ a tourist or mega project
iv) everytime a public mass transport facility is installed – highway, bus interchange, MRT, airport (those near enough to hear noise or be affected by pollution)

Which MPs or Governors can understand what was written above and will write and amend laws for the 99% so that they (if not over term limits) remain votable? The 99% must see the above ‘quality of life compensation bill’ be written into law, not those who write ‘Forced Military Conscriptions backed by fines and jail terms WITHOUT abstentioon options’. Any who write or pass bad laws (like forced NS) are unvotable and a new MP or governor must be voted in the next election to place a MP or governor who will remove that same bad law. The above example is something even the academics have not noticed or are too entrenched to want to address . . . good article Kirwan! Now how about running for election as well if not sabotaged by psy-oppers and EMF/ELF/smartmeter pro-bad law writing ‘careerist politician’ colluding citizens?
