Major US Airport To Evict TSA Screeners – Orlando Sanford International could prompt stampede of other opt-outs – Paul Joseph Watson (Infowars.com) – Wednesday, March 14, 2012

One of America’s busiest airports, Orlando Sanford International, has announced it will opt out of using TSA workers to screen passengers, a move which threatens the highly unpopular federal agency’s role in other airports across the nation.

“The president of the airport said Tuesday that he would apply again to use private operators to screen passengers, using federal standards and oversight,” reports the Miami Herald.

With Sanford International having originally been prevented by the TSA from opting out back in November 2010 when the federal agency froze the ability for airports to use their own private screeners, a law passed by the Senate last month forces the TSA to reconsider applications.

Larry Dale hinted that the move was motivated by the innumerable horror stories passengers have told of their encounters with the TSA, noting that the change was designed to provide a more “customer friendly” operation.

The agency has been slow to reissue the guidelines on the the rule change, prompting Republican Representatives John Mica of Florida, Darrell Issa of California and Jason Chaffetz of Utah to press TSA head John Pistole to implement the mandate.

Appearing at Orlando Sanford International yesterday, Mica said he had written to 200 airports advising them of the opportunity to op out of using TSA screeners.

Orlando Sanford is in the top 30 busiest airports in the world, with large numbers of takeoffs and landings.

The TSA has been keen to downplay the opportunity for airports to dispense with their screeners, fearing a mass exodus that could undermine the justification for the agency’s continued existence, especially given the fact that its reputation has been repeatedly savaged by a number of scandals.

The most recent controversy involved a viral You Tube video created by engineer Jon Corbett which demonstrated how the TSA’s body scanners were virtually useless because they are unable to detect objects carried on the side of the body carried in a pocket.

The TSA responded by threatening the media not to cover the issue while putting out a blog statement that completely failed to rebut the claims made by Corbett.

A November 2010 poll found that the TSA’s “enhanced pat downs,” some of which include touching genitalia, angered 57% of regular adult fliers.

West Yellowstone Airport in Montana has already replaced its TSA screeners with private security. Bert Mooney Airport, also in Montana, is attempting to do the same.

However, when Texas lawmakers attempted to pass a bill last year that would have outlawed invasive TSA pat downs, the feds threatened to implement a blockade that would have imposed a defacto “no fly zone” over the lone star state.

Kicking out the incompetent, criminally-inclined and abusive TSA across the nation will not only encourage millions of peeved Americans to start flying again, pumping much needed money into the travel industry, it will also create thousands of new private sector jobs.

Should your child be spanked at school? – by Yunji De NIES – Good Morning America ABC News)

It is one of the most controversial methods of child discipline, but spanking in school — usually with a wooden or fiberglass paddle — is still allowed by law in 19 states. The practice is most prevalent in the Midwest and South. According to a report from the Juvenile Information Exchange, more than 28,500 students in Georgia were spanked in 2008, mostly in rural counties. The number is much smaller in Florida — around 3,600 last year — but that’s where the issue is getting new attention.

For the second year in a row, a Florida lawmaker is trying to ban corporal punishment in schools there; last year the measure never made it to the floor for a full vote.

Opponents of the ban say spanking is matter of tradition and good old-fashioned discipline. But at least one Florida mom is suing to stop the practice. Tenika Jones says the principal at the Joyce Bullock Elementary School in Levy County paddled her 5-year-old so severely last April that he cried for hours, triggering an asthma attack, which in turn required a trip to the emergency room.

The boy was spanked for roughhousing with another student on a school bus. Jones said her son had welts on his buttocks, missed a week of school and still has nightmares about the incident.

“That’s child abuse to me,” the 32-year old told reporters, “If they don’t want us to hit our kids, they shouldn’t either.” Principal Jaime Handlin declined to comment, citing the on-going legislation, but she did tell the Willston Pioneer newspaper that “nothing was violated.”

She added, “I disciplined out of love, not anger.”

Researchers have found that spanking can increase aggressiveness in children and can even hurt the mental development of young children.

“Corporal punishment doesn’t get us the results we want,” said Deborah Sendek, program director of the Center for Effective Discipline, a group that advocates against corporal punishment. “You can get the same result from an intervention – simply telling and teaching children to stop the behavior.”

Sendek says the practice is not only ineffective, it can also teach children that hitting is acceptable. Sendek, who has worked in with abused and neglected children for three decades, says children who are hit ultimately learn to avoid the punisher, not the behavior.

She cited a number of instances in which children were seriously injured and asked why so many American children are subject to this type of punishment.

“We’re not allowed to hit a prisoner. We do not hit in the military,” Sendek said, “Why do we give prisoners more protection than we give our schoolchildren?

Even if parents do not agree with corporal punishment, there is little they can do, if a school district permits it, to guarantee that their child will not be hit by an administrator if she or he misbehaves. Sendek says her group suggests that parents who want to opt out of that type of discipline should send a letter to the principal and school administrators at the beginning of each school year, and make sure that their concerns are put in the child’s permanent record. She also recommends reviewing the school district’s disciplinary policies and voicing any concerns at parent/teacher conferences or school board meetings before a child is ever hit.

Beating of children if allowed by school should be the parent’s choice not the state’s choice and separate schools should be built for parents who opt out in these states. Opt out options are a sign of civilised law writing, not for a mob minded ‘majority’ to impose upon parents who do not want their kids to be beaten by the school. Then there is the issue of a child reaching sufficient cognisance to opt out regardless of age but rather by a psyche test to determine if that child is socially mature enough to CHOOSE to opt out. A child is also a person, and though not yet biologically mature, may be mature enough to decide what ANOTHER PERSON does to their body. Classes could be held to inform children on their rights to opt out for a start if the 19 states involved in beating kids at schools wish to be U.N. Charter’s Child Rights compliant.

Difficult to convince foreigners Malaysia is peaceful country – Tourism Minister Dr. Ng Yenyen – Wednesday, 14 March 2012 17:54

KUALA LUMPUR — Difficulty in convincing foreigners that Malaysia is a peaceful and stable country is the key barrier to them joining the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme.

Tourism Minister Datuk Dr Ng Yen Yen said street demonstrations have negative impact on promotional efforts undertaken by the ministry.

“This is the key barrier preventing foreigners from staying in Malaysia for long period,” she said in a written reply to Teresa Kok (DAP-Seputeh) who asked about the breakdown of MM2H participants and barriers faced by the ministry.

Dr Ng said 17,203 foreigners from 119 countries joined MM2H programme from 2002-2011 and the most were China nationals with 2,857 applications.

“They are followed by citizens of Bangladesh (2,082), United Kingdom (1,789) and Japan (1,629).

“The profile of 8,479 participants established since 2007 found that 90.6 percent are male while the remaining 9.4 percent are female,” she added.

Initiatives taken to promote MM2H include encouraging foreign tour operators to offer “MM2H Inspection Tours” to tourists wishing to stay for long period.

Actually Malaysia is mostly peaceful and mostly stable (average of less than 1 riot per year and less than 3-5 marches). But the malaise and apartheid, extreme social control, treatment of unaffiliated intellectuals, Bumi-superiority (barring the titled folk and royalty) where all citizens should be equal instead, also Islam contrived dhimmitude used as a weapon agaionst the minorities by some factions in one way or another, some outright corrupt, others just imposing their preferences (sneakily and not very plurally), here is terribly depressing and cold war era oppressive.

BN leaders throw ‘eggs’ at Guan Eng, exposing their fear of getting zero seats in GE-13 – Written by  Melissa Lee, Malaysia Chronicle – Thursday, 15 March 2012 15:16

The truth always hurts. Upset by Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s prediction that they will probably end up eating “eggs” or get zero seats at the 13th general election widely expected to be held in May or June, BN leaders accused him of arrogance and bad attitude.

But their criticism is unlikely to faze Guan Eng, who is also the DAP secretary general. Firstly, he may well be stating a fact. The chances of the BN being annihilated at GE-13 is high indeed. Secondly, this may well explain the hysteria that greeted Guan Eng’s tongue-in-cheek call to Penangites during a recent fundraising dinner not to give the BN any seats at all.
“This is the mark of a dictatorship. We know Lim said this to boost the morale of his supporters during the dinner, this is understandable. But it is not democratic to want to grab all power and leave no space for dissenting voices,” Gerakan leader Baljit Singh was reported to have said in response to Guan Eng’s remark.

“Lim should not be so proud and arrogant to hope that Penangites, especially the professionals, from all races, would continue to support DAP with a two-third majority, as there is too much confusion in development matters here. It is obvious that Lim is merely a village hero because he has successfully tricked villagers, especially the Chinese community, by playing with racial sentiments,” said Penang Umno Youth chief Shaik Hussein Mydin.

Blame yourselves, not Pakatan

But as Pakatan leaders pointed it was not Guan Eng that BN should blame but themselves. Instead of working seriously to challenge the Pakatan-led Penang state government, they have pulled all sorts of stunts to roil the state administration.

Yet Guan Eng and team managed to pull in enough investments for Penang to make it into the top 2 best managed states in the country, which has 13 states in total. The other top state is Selangor, another Pakatan-governed state.

“For the past 3 years running, we still made it to the top 2 spots in economic and investment performance. Look at the ‘bombs’ they threw at us, from the ‘azan’ issue to the Friday sermon to the Christian prime minister and so on. ” PKR assemblyman for Pantai Jerejak Sim Tze Tzin told Malaysia Chronicle.

“Instead of destabilizing us, Pakatan is now more popular than ever until BN is scared the Penangites will listen to us and not give their leaders a single seat. Frankly, after all the trouble they have caused and the risk they posed to Penang’s economic stability, Penangites should send them a very strong message. Repeat the past antics and shenanigans and you will get zero again in GE-14!”

Pakatan holds 29 of the 40 seats in the Penang state assembly. Umno holds the other 11, while Gerakan and MCA were wiped out.

Lapdogs of course were wiped out. The people know who is a real or proxy. Everytime Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s eats an egg or egg related product the chickens are going to get whatever they need to topple DAP. Either that or LGE’s after something I won’t mention here . . . Baljit Singh should also tell his Gerakan people, that without fighting for end of apartheid or at least fighting (which is what DAP is doing though for themselves and not much else, gaining little respect in any case), Gerakan is no longer any party at all. Pakatan is a necessary evil and NOT more popular, until independent candidates (especially Malay ones) that believe in :

1) Freedom from Apartheid/Fascism
2) Freedom from Religious-Persecution/Religious-Supremacy.
3) Equality for all ethnicities and faiths in all aspects of policy, Law and Constitution.

;that neither Gerakan, MCA nor DAP (which is seen as indirectly fighting apartheid by being against UMNO, better than MCA and Gerakan who accept UMNO and thus are pro-apartheid) have made clear on. PAS had better ensure the 3 items instead, being the more honest party overall among all factions.

Not only Umno, MCA also imploding! – Written by  Jackson Ng – Friday, 16 March 2012 05:53

MUCH has been written about how Umno is imploding with warlords conspiring and going all out to remove one another from the corridors of power.

It spells trouble for Barisan Nasional (BN) in the next 13th General Election as Umno is the dominant force in the coalition.

However, BN’s second largest coalition partner, the MCA, is also in the same boat as Umno.

Little birds in MCA say the party’s undisputed immoral president Chua Soi Lek had been trying to end his predecessor Ong Tee Keat’s political career from the day he successfully manoeuvred the latter’s ouster in 2010.

Internal killing fields

Chua and MCA Youth chief and deputy education minister Wee Ka Siong’s attempt on Tuesday (March 13, 2012) to claim credit for the final approval of a three-acre plot in Pandan’s Taman Lembah Maju for the relocation of Hulu Langat Batu 18 SJKC Choon Hwa is only the tip of the iceberg.

MCA insiders say the Chua-led MCA had been throwing the spanner into projects and services launched by Ong in Pandan.

Chua’s game plan to end Ong’s political career is to shackle thelatter’s integrity and influence as Pandan MP and inability to deliver. What the pea-brain Chua and his cronies failed to see is that they are also sabotaging BN, weakening a winnable BN seat.

Pandan is the only MCA parliamentary seat in Selangor won in the March 2008 political tsunami.

How else do you explain the four years of lobbying after the school was identified for relocation in 2006. Ong had proposed the relocation to Pandan in 2007 and the land was found and approved in March 2008.

Ekabena Sdn Bhd had on March 3, 2008, informed the then Education Minister Hishammuddin Hussein that it is handing over 10.7 acres in Taman Lembah Maju for the construction of Choon Hwa.

This also raises a significant question? Only three acres was approved for Choon Hwa. What happened to the remaining 7.7 acres? Who swallowed the land or who will eventually benefit?

Who swallowed the other 7.7 acres

After Ong revealed all in a chronology in his blog on Wednesday (March 14, 2012), the man who exposed the multi-billion-ringgit Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) financial scandal rightly remarked that Wee, as deputy education minister, had much to explain why only three acres were approved when the negotiated plot was five acres.

The MCA insiders also said financing the relocation was not a problem because in March 2009, then Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Najib Abdul Razak announced the approval of RM95 million for the construction of 20 SJKCs, including RM3 million for Choon Hwa.

With all major relocation issues settled, why then did it take a former MCA president and senior Cabinet member so long to get the final approval?

Ong had revealed in his blog that it took him at least two meetings with Najib and seven meetings with Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Muhyiddin Yassin to get things moving.

The final approval for the school land was also two acres short. Instead of claiming credit, Wee should explain why was Choon Hwa short-changed?

Sabotage Kings

Since their attempts to discredit Ong has failed, the insiders say Chua and Wee had to claim credit fast to cover up their “sabotage Pandan tactics”.

Now, the MCA little birds say Chua and Wee are preparing to use the BN-controlled mainstream print media, especially the MCA-owned The Star, to provide wide coverage on March 23, 2012, in a visit to the plot allocated for Choon Hwa and to claim credit for the school relocation.

That is the type of reliable and scheming self-centred leaders that Malaysians will be electing in the next general election if they continue to give their ballots to BN.

Ever heard of gentrification? Those pigs do not eat anything filthy and are in a clean environment . . . wait till China gets the Boars crossbred with humans then send an army of PC Pig-human hybrids to sue Muslims and their beliefs for the insult. Who knows maybe a state of ‘Pigsrael’ (Introducing the : Khinzirim!!!) will be created beside their most hated enemies by Pig-Boar-human hybrids?

Lets say we keep an open mind and go along with the pig creation story. But IF the pig does not eat rubbish the nature of the pig cannot be fully realised or transferred to the consumers.

This sort of comment is as inaccurate as the Hindus or Taoists saying that Muslims are damned because they eat beef, even properly domesticated cattle. If this is just trying to insult other peoples dietary habits, you are shaming Muslims instead by this sort of post. Live and let live, we each have out own districts etc.. so why attack pork eating or even tear down facilities like abbatoirs that don’t even affect anyone being a closed building (demand building of high walls at most but tearing down is too much!)? Quite offensive especially when the rationale is not even logical or accurately applicable.

Finally please don’t go ‘Cina babi, Cina bodoh,’ you don’t know how primitive that sounds, don’t even have to be Malay to cringe in embarrassment FOR the Muslims who talk like that, if trying to provoke a food fight, then total fail, we’re too civilised . . .

PAS is indeed moving faster than UMNO, but always there are serious lapses in judgement like this, how about letting them rebuild to prove otherwise PAS? PAS is making themselves unvotable and voters’ memories are very long . . . ) Something for the Human Rights Tribunal or Bar Council to address? Not a word? No lawsuits?

Judicial tribunal against A-G, ex-IGP: Don’t be blind, deaf and mute, Kit Siang tells PM – Written by  Lim Kit Siag – Friday, 16 March 2012 17:38

How long is the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, to remain “blind deaf and mute” to the mounting pressures for a judicial tribunal to investigate serious allegations against the Attorney-General Tan Sri Gani Patail and former Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan for subversion of the rule of law and the perversion of the course of justice?

The latest Open Letter by former senior police officer, Datuk Mat Zain Ibrahim to Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar copied to the Prime Minister has brought the long-simmering scandal of serious allegations about the complicity of the chief legal officer of the land in the subversion of the rule of law and the perversion of the course of the justice to the centre of national and international attention.

Mat Zain revealed that on February 19, 2009, he had briefed and passed evidence to Najib over Gani and Musa’s “misconduct” in fabricating evidence in the Anwar Ibrahim “black eye” incident 13 years ago.

Musa was the investigating officer in the Anwar Ibrahim Sodomy I case while Abdul Gani led the prosecution. Mat Zain was the investigating officer in the black-eye incident.

Mat Zain said he was prepared to give “no holds barred” testimony under oath before a judicial tribunal when and if it is informed.

This is another “new lead” justifying the establishment of such a tribunal, as last week, the former Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) chief Datuk Ramli Yusof also volunteered to testify before such a tribunal against Gani and Musa, accusing both of gross abuses of power and misuse of the Anti-Corruption Agency to fix him and his men after a probe into a shady kingpin arrested by his team.

In his Open Letter today, Mat Zain said that both Gani and Musa were never investigated for “evidence fabrication” and had only been cleared of “abuse of power” allegations.

Would Najib prove Mat Zain right who predicted that the Prime Minister would not establish a judicial tribunal as Gani and Musa’s convictions would prove that Anwar had been victimised during the 13-year-old case which led to Anwar’s jail sentence?

Mat Zain said: “When this happens, not only would Gani and Musa face the possibility of imprisonment of up to 21 years, the government’s credibility would also be destroyed.”

Najib should heed Mat Zain’s warning that the Prime Minister could be held for criminal misconduct if he chooses to continue to ignore or hide other people’s crime which is already within his knowledge.

Najib should come to Parliament to personally state whether he is prepared to initiate action for the establishment of a Judicial Tribunal into the serious allegations of the subversion of the rule of law and perversion of the course of justice made against Gani and Musa by former top police officers in the land.

Lim Kit Siang is the DAP MP for Ipoh Timur (brought to you by Carls Jr.)

[[[ *** RESPONSE *** ]]]

While the issue of the PM’s tacit approval is correct for condemnation, blind, deaf and mute people should be offended by this sort of statement, and might want to take this case to court sueing for damages caused by ’emotional abuse and inconsiderate statements by an MP’. I’m sure the ‘old man’ comment by LGE will also be very useful in ensuring suspensions from Dewan, this is as bad as misogyny and sexism which does get people suspended from Dewan . . . would DAP want to become blind, deaf and mute from using this demographic to curse others with?

Also TERM LIMITLESS NEPOTISTS are more offensive than any blind, deaf and mute person could be. Term limitless minded MPs should GTFO of the Dewan and let younger more politically correct politicians without family blocs take over!

Again to repeat, BN can wipe Pakatan out by using that mandate BN already has to grant :

1) Freedom from Apartheid/Fascism
2) Freedom from Religious-Persecution/Religious-Supremacy.
3) Equality for all ethnicities and faiths in all aspects of policy, Law and Constitution.

See article below (not the best example but the spirit of PC is there, doubly applicable to MPs or politicians and public office holders) for what even happens to people calling others names if an MP !

Leave my ‘billionaire bogan’ alone! Bernie Ecclestone calls for sacking of MP who called daughter Tamara a chav – by Holly Thomas and Andrea Magrath – PUBLISHED: 15:51 GMT, 16 March 2012 | UPDATED: 17:19 GMT, 16 March 2012

Bernie Ecclestone has furiously hit back at the Australian MP who made headlines this week for calling his daughter Tamara ‘a billionaire bogan.’

The F1 boss called for the sacking of Labour politician Kelvin Thomson and called him ‘a bit of an idiot’ during a radio interview.

Ecclestone, 81, was flummoxed by the Australian slang word which roughly translates to the UK’s ‘chav.’

‘I didn’t know what that means,’ he said during the chat with Melbourne radio station 3AW. ‘Does he speak English?’

‘Who is this half-wit?’ Bernie Ecclestone is incensed at Australian MP Kelvin Thomson’s remarks about daughter Tamara, equating her to a chav

Upon hearing the less-than flattering summation of his family by Thomson during a speech in parliament this week, Bernie riled: ‘Who was the half-wit who said these things? He should be fired because he’s a bit of an idiot, he obviously doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

‘You’re not a communist state there are you?

‘She does a lot more work for charity than Mr. Whatever-his-name has, believe you me, and given a lot more money to charity.’

Critical: The MP complained that Melbourne funds Tamara’s lavish lifestyle by shelling out £26 for the Grand Prix

Thomson made headline this week when he complained that the city of Melbourne was effectively funding Tamara’s lavish lifestyle.

Kelvin was furious over the soaring cost of hosting the annual Grand Prix, claiming that the £26 million paid by the city to the sport’s authorities is bankrolling Tamara’s way of life.

Kelvin called the 27-year-old, who is the daughter of F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone, a ‘bogan’- the Australian equivalent for ‘chav’.

The socialite gave fans a glimpse of life on the inside of her £45 million London mansion last year during a fly-on-the-wall TV series.

However 56-year-old  Thomson’s impression of the reality star was less than positive.

He riled: ‘She sets out to prove that she isn’t a ‘pointless, quite spoilt, really stupid, vacuous empty human being’.

‘Her attempt is not entirely successful.’

‘She is shown supervising the refurbishment of her £45 million home in London, which includes commissioning a £1million bathtub carved from Mexican crystal, an elevator for her Ferrari, her own nightclub, a bowling alley with crystal studded balls, an underground swimming pool complex, and a spa and massage parlour for her five dogs.’

‘Of course she has her own daily massage, and her busy day includes taking the dogs to Harrods to have their hair sprayed and their nails painted.’

‘The day is not complete without a private plane to fly her across the Channel to an exclusive party in Europe, but she cracks it when her stockbroker boyfriend meets a group which includes a former girlfriend and she leaves the party in a huff.’

Didn’t go down well: Labour politician Kelvin Thompson didn’t approve of Tamara’s fly-on-the-wall series Billion $$ Girl

‘If you haven’t seen the documentary I can’t recommend it too highly.’

‘One thing I am absolutely sure of – there are better ways to spend $50 million (£26m), year in and year out, than bankrolling Bernie’s billionaire bogan.’

This weekend’s Australian Grand Prix, which is held in Melbourne on Sunday, will be the first of 2012 season.

It costs around £26 million to host – massive sum by comparison to the  increase on the £750,000 it cost to host the inaugural GP in 1997.

Thomson says the money would be far better spent helping to rebuild communities affected by Australia’s recent floods.

Just because you can, it does not mean you should! A million pounds for a bath? A massage parlour and trips to Harrods for her dogs? Think what the money she wastes on her dogs could do for an animal charity. In a time of people struggling to pay bills, keep a roof over their heads and food on the table, surely spending money in such a frivolous manner and then flaunting it and moaning how hard life is, is going to leave people with a bad impression of you? If you can afford a million pound bath then you can obviously afford to give to charity and it will not stop you putting food on the table.

The article went : ‘She (Tamara) does a lot more work for charity than Mr. Whatever-his-name has, believe you me, and given a lot more money to charity.’

Not by ratio of earnings and what Tamara spends on herself Tamara doesn’t. Lets say a person who earns 2000 a month gives 240 a year on charity. Thats 10% of of that person’s income. Now lets say by proxy based on the family business Tamara is born into, Tamara earns 2 million a month and gives 240K a year. Now that only comes to 1% of Tamara’s earnings, so unless Tamara is giving 2.4 million a year to charity, the person who gave 240 per year would have done more than what Tamara would be giving by ratio, giving 10 times as much even though they earned 1000 times less than Tamara. Get the idea 1% ters who think 401K is a lifetimes earnings and giving 401K is enough (frankly most plutocrats probably have not reached 401K in donations)? Earning 1000 times yet giving 10 times less, would still be less, the PERCENTAGE and RATIO of giving to what one is earning is what counts! Thats the way the Universe works. So don’t wonder why the derision!

Could Tamara’s life in the fast lane hit Bernie’s wallet? – Ms Ecclestone’s excess causes Aussie MP to question Formula One subsidies – Friday 16 March 2012

Boasting a £45m London house complete with crystal bathtub, massage parlour for her five dogs and a handbag collection valued at £500,000, Tamara Ecclestone’s lavish lifestyle may not be to everyone’s taste.

But it has now attracted the ire of an Australian MP, who yesterday accused Ms Ecclestone, daughter of Bernie, the Formula One chief executive, of benefiting from the 50m Australian dollars (£34m) that the Victorian state government spends on hosting the annual F1 Grand Prix in Melbourne on Sunday.

Having watched Channel Five’s three-part documentary on the 27-year-old, which aired late last year, the Victoria MP, Kelvin Thomson, was full of scorn for her opulent lifestyle as he addressed the Australian parliament. “Her busy day includes taking [her] dogs to Harrods to have their hair sprayed and nails painted,” Mr Thomson said. “There are better ways to spend A$50m, year in and year out, than bankrolling Bernie’s billionaire bogan.” In Australia, “bogan” is a disparaging term similar to “chav”.

Ms Ecclestone, whose London home features a private bowling alley, an underground nightclub and a lift for her £370,000 Ferrari, hit back. In a reference to the documentary, she tweeted: “Surprised Kelvin Thompson [sic] has the time to watch and comment on #billiondollargirl being an MP.”

But Mr Thomson refused to back down, saying that the high-profile model – who arranged a party for her stockbroker boyfriend, Omar Khyami, where guests ate sushi off a naked woman lying on a table – was fair game. “She’s not some Greta Garbo, saying ‘I want to be left alone’,” he told the television programme Breakfast. “She is a willing, indeed enthusiastic, participant in charting this extravagant and self-indulgent lifestyle.”

The MP called for a debate on whether Victorian taxpayers should continue to line the pockets of the Ecclestone family or whether the sponsorship money would be better spent on building a new school, helping flood-ravaged communities or constructing underground power lines – a recommendation of a Royal Commission into the deadly 2009 bushfires in Victoria.

Speaking about the programme, Billion $$ Girl, Mr Thomson said Ms Ecclestone “is shown supervising the refurbishment of her £45m home in London, which includes commissioning a £1m bathtub carved from Mexican crystal”.

Is that bathtub in the shape of a skull so Tamara can pretend to be a Mayan brain? Hope the ancients don’t make a meal of Tamara by mistaking that tub for an Atlantean sized skull . . . those subsidies are of course entirely inappropriate given the Ecclestones’ wealth. Bogan away! How are the fellow countrymen doing today plutocrats? Still starving in the shelters while selfish plutocrats drink 50K XO and Champagne? Marie Antoinette (the among the hated personaes of 1%ters) would approve (so long as the unworthy Bastille of plutocracy is standing) . . .
